Reflections on the absurd
After a month of dark intensity, the last seven days gifted some well-needed relief. Our dreams were diverse and chaotic. But one thread tied them together.
This week our dreams were unapologetically funny.
In a parody of the proverb “an apple a day keeping the doctor away,” a mysterious fruit-man attacks. His victim? Who else but a dreamer’s physician father.
A famous American film director photobombs the Wizard of Oz. A human sized fork appears as a dancing best friend. Blue characters leave a wakened dreamer laughing in his bed.
Other comedy pushed into the boundaries of bawdy. A woman reveals her perfect make-up secret: a sex toy. A man kayaked to a deserted island. Where he met a local with a rude rhyme about contraception methods.
Washing down the surreal, water dreams were more common this week. Perhaps a sign of the last drops of Pisces season. Swimming pools, oceans, and floods swept through our nights.
Animals ran a restaurant. Then, a frog (Michelin inspector) came and ordered soup. He found a bug in the soup and screamed, "There's a bug in my soup!" The waiter replied, "But Sir, you are a frog.
